The Chad-Cameroon Petroleum Development and Pipeline Project is an important African project, aimed at developing the production capacity of oilfields in southern Chad.
Strict regulations for large Frisomat steel hall
Our client, COTCO (Cameroon Oil Transportation Company) asked us to build a steel industrial hangar in Cameroon. It needed to be used for storage purposes, but also as an office for a dozen employees. The location was challenging in itself: a petrochemical site, where rules and regulations are very strict.
The Astra steel hall built by Frisomat abides by all the rules. It is large and fireproof, and it withstands the severe weather that is often experienced at the Cameroon coast.
Office space on steel mezzanine
The most interesting part of the project was the integration of a mezzanine in the steel Astra hall, above the warehouse facilities. Here, a team of office workers can do their jobs in quietness, without requiring a separate steel industrial building. It’s a cost-effective solution that maximizes the 7 meter roof height of the pre-engineered steel hall.
